Boulters Weir

The objective was to demolish an existing weir and the construction
of a new Weir and associated works. Including constructing a concrete apron together with reconstruction work of the bank to the island. This is one of 18 weir refurbished by LG Kimber.

LG Kimber Engineering responsibilities included Fabrication, treatment, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of mechanical works associated with the A’ frames , 6 off split leaf Buck Gates and headworks. The supply and installation of the ‘Rotork’ actuators. The headworks included the winding drums, winding shafts, rollers and bearings, which were all made form stainless steel.

The walkway flooring and handrailing was mild steel galvanised. The remaining metal work and steelwork was shot blasted and painted with Sigmacover primer, CM coating or TCP Glass flake and Sigmadur gloss, except the Buck gates which were metal sprayed and painted.
